Dan is a dedicated member of the community who enjoys giving his time to build up those around him. He has lived and worked in Castro Valley for over 20 years and continues to serve the community as a Peace officer. Dan has served as a Rotarian with the Castro Valley Rotary Club and is a current member of the citizens advisory committee for the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District. He is a volunteer coach with Castro Valley Soccer Club, Next Level Flag Football Program, Pleasanton Junior Football League, and a proud father of three CVUSD students.
Dan's passion and desire to further involve himself in the community led him to take on the role of Public Information Officer. In this role he was able to work closely with CVUSD administrators, teachers, students and families while facilitating safety educational programs such as Walk and Roll to School, Every 15 minutes, and Start Smart (Teen Driver Safety).
Dan's commitment to the community is also reflected in his work with historical events, such as The Rowell Ranch Rodeo, The Rowell Ranch Rodeo Parade, The Castro Valley Car Show, The Fall Festival, and The Light Parade.
Dan cares deeply about Castro Valley and the future of its students. He has dedicated much of his life to serving and protecting the people around him and volunteering in our community. Dan believes his experience in public service, commitment to our community, and focus on safety, education, accountability, and academic excellence can bring a valuable perspective to our school board. As a board member, Dan will work collaboratively with parents, teachers, and staff to make decisions that prioritize students.
Dan believes our schools should be safe and welcoming places where every student can succeed.

Dan was one of the best coaches and mentors I’ve had the opportunity to work with. He was always willing to help, offer advice, and support people around him. His leadership, kindness, and professionalism made a strong impression on me. As a CHP officer and fellow first responder, he is someone I look up to and have a great deal of respect for. I’m grateful for the connection we’ve built and for everything I’ve learned from him. Dan is truly the kind of person who makes a positive impact wherever he goes! Thanks Dan!
I am proud to endorse Dan Jacowitz for Castro Valley School Board. Dan is a trusted community leader who believes in open communication, transparency, and collaboration between families, educators, and the community. He understands the importance of student safety and is committed to ensuring our schools remain safe, welcoming places where every student can succeed. I am confident Dan will be a thoughtful and effective advocate for Castro Valley students and families.
Dan has been a dedicated member of the CVUSD community for many years. During the time I have known him, he has consistently gone above and beyond in his role as a leader within the Parent Teacher Association. He exemplifies what true leadership looks like—not just through his title, but through his actions, commitment, and service to our schools and families.
I can think of no better candidate to help lead our school district. Dan’s passion, integrity, and dedication to the community make him exceptionally qualified to serve on the school board.
I am supporting Dan Jacowitz for Castro Valley School Board because for many years I have seen Dan work with our community as a Peace Officer and on the H.A.R.D Citizen Advisory Committee. Dan always goes above and beyond what is expected of him. He cares about families that live here and he never hesitates to step up and do the work. When leaders like Dan step up, all of us rise up. Join me in supporting Dan Jacowitz for Castro Valley School Board.
